In many parts of Indonesia, the kebaya is seen as a strong nationalistic symbol and has been strongly supported as a symbol of Identity for Indonesian women by prominent figures throughout the nation's story.

Recently, this traditional dress has become recognized internationally as it is used as the uniform for flight attadance (stewardesses) on Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.

I believe that kebaya is our national clothes. And we as Indonesian people must show to other countries about our clothes, so the entire world knows our clothes. But Indonesian peoples rarely use "kebaya" for daily clothes. "Kebaya" only used in cultural events and maybe Indonesian teenager likely use western clothes or western style more than "kebaya" or Indonesian style because they think "kebaya" is and old mode and hard to use. I recomment to the designer of "kebaya" should be updated the "kebaya" style, so the Indonesian teenager more like "kebaya" than western clothes which it can be damage our culture.

So, actually Indonesia also have an awesome culture which one is our national clothes "kebaya". Like we know there are people that design a new "kebaya" style until that clothes go International. They are Anne Avantie and Adjie Notonegoro. "Kebaya" by Anne has well-known in International and often used by Indonesian actrist and until Miss Universe who came to Indonesia.
